Book MOT Reading with MD Tyres and Auto Services?

Is your vehicle’s MOT due soon?

Consider dropping by MD Tyres and Auto Services for a comprehensive and reliable MOT Reading at affordable rates. We are a DVSA-approved facility offering Class 4 and 7 MOT with the highest precision. After conducting the test, our experts will issue you the relevant pass/fail certificate.

You can drop by our facility at 47 Loverock Road Reading RG30 1DZ, if you own a car that belongs to one of the following vehicle classes:

Class 4: Cars with up to 8 seats, ambulances, taxis and dual-purpose vehicle or three-wheelers with a seating capacity of 12

Class 7: Commercial vehicles above the weight of 3,500 kgs

Once you visit us, our experts will make sure to follow government-specific norms while conducting MOT Reading. Accordingly, we will inspect the following car components:

Fuel System

We will thoroughly check your vehicle’s fuel system to ensure that there are no leaks. Our experts will also inspect if the fuel cap fastens and seals securely and the hoses and pipes are in working condition.

Exhaust

Depending on your vehicle’s age and fuel type, we will check whether it meets the emission rules. We will see if the exhaust system has any leaks and ensure that the catalyst is not missing.

Seatbelts

Your car will be inspected to ensure that all the seatbelts are in working condition and are attached securely. Additionally, we will also check the malfunction indicator lamps on your vehicle’s dashboard to see if the warning lights for seatbelt pretensioners and airbags work.

Brakes

We will thoroughly inspect the vehicle’s braking system to check to ensure it is in full working order.

Tyres And Wheels

The overall condition of your vehicle’s tyres and wheels will be checked during the MOT Reading at our facility. We will inspect the tread depth (must have a minimum of 1,6mm tread left), check there are no damaged sidewalls etc. and also double-check whether the size of the tyres is appropriate for the vehicle. Apart from these, we also check:

  • Registration plates
  • Lights
  • Windscreen
  • Wipers
  • Steering and suspension, and more

You can find the complete list of check points on the government website or at our testing station.

After the inspection, we will issue either of the following certificates:

  • VT20 (pass) certificate
  • VT30 (fail) certificate

If your vehicle fails the test, you must get all faults rectified and the vehicle must undergo a partial retest afterwards.

Further, if we find any issues with your vehicle, we will classify them as follows:

Major: Indicates there are serious issues in your vehicle that need urgent fixing.

Dangerous: As the name suggests, this indicates your vehicle needs attention at the earliest.

The VT30 will explain the issues that need to be addressed. Our team can help you with repairs- and part replacements if you wish.

Minor: These are minor and may not cause any serious problems in the near future. However, you must not ignore minor issues as they might escalate and lead to safety issues and hefty repair bills in the future.

Please note: The vehicle will still pass the MOT test with minor faults, but they will be recorded in our system. You will find a so-called Advisory note attached to your VT20.

Note: You can opt for MOT Reading one month before the expiry date of your existing MOT certificate.

You can book a test online, by phone or at our garage.
